Terms of Service

Effective 10 October 2026 for new accounts, and 15 days after our notice email for existing members · Last updated 10 October 2026

Archived version. This is the Terms of Service as published on 10 October 2026. It was replaced on 11 October 2026 and is kept here for reference. Read the current Terms of Service.

Welcome to Roleora. These terms are a real agreement between you and KNETT IT INFRASTRUCTURE AND SOLUTIONS PRIVATE LIMITED (“Knett”, “we”, “us”), a private limited company incorporated in India (CIN: U72900DL2007PTC199384) that makes Roleora. By creating an account or using roleora.com or app.roleora.com (together, “Roleora” or the “Service”), you agree to them. We’ve written them to be readable. Please actually read them.

1. What Roleora is

Roleora is a career management platform: you log your daily work, build a profile, and generate documents (resumes, cover letters, gap analyses, self-reviews) from your own record. It is a tool for you — not a job board, not a recruiting service, and not a guarantee of any career outcome.

2. Who can use Roleora

  • You must be 18 years or older to create an account. You confirm your date of birth at signup, and you confirm it truthfully.
  • Why 18+: under Indian law a person under 18 cannot enter a binding contract, and India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 requires verifiable parental consent for users under 18 and prohibits behavioural tracking of them. Roleora’s core features (streaks, activity heatmaps, AI memory of your work patterns) are exactly that kind of tracking. So signup is 18+ only. If we learn an account belongs to someone under 18, we will delete it and its data.
  • You must provide accurate information when signing up and keep your account details current.
  • One account per person. You are responsible for what happens under your login; keep your credentials to yourself.

3. Acceptable use

Use Roleora for your own career record. Don’t:

  • scrape, crawl, or bulk-extract data from the Service;
  • resell, sublicense, or provide Roleora to others as a service;
  • probe, overload, or attempt to breach our systems, or bypass usage limits and metering;
  • upload content that is unlawful, infringing, or that you don’t have the right to share (including confidential employer material in breach of your obligations — log responsibly);
  • impersonate anyone, or feed the Service deliberately false records with intent to deceive third parties;
  • use automated means to create accounts or generate documents;
  • use anything Roleora’s AI writes or says to make a false document, credential or record, or to pass yourself off as someone else.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules (see Section 10).

4. Credits, subscriptions, and payment

Credits. One credit buys one AI generation (for example a resume, a cover letter, a gap analysis or a self-review). An interview session costs one or two credits, as the Pricing page shows, and spoken interviews also use your monthly interviewer minutes. Your plan’s monthly allowances, entry limits, and current prices are shown on the Pricing page, which forms part of these terms.

Free and Pro. The free plan includes 10 credits and 30 interviewer minutes a month, with no time limit. Pro includes 40 credits and 150 interviewer minutes a month and costs ₹149 per month or ₹1,299 per year at the time of writing (the Pricing page is authoritative if prices change). We will not cut a plan’s allowance for a period you have already paid for.

Credit packs. You can buy one-time credit packs — currently 5 credits for ₹99, 20 for ₹299, 50 for ₹649. Purchased credits expire 183 days after purchase. Monthly plan credits reset each month and do not carry over, except rollover credits earned through streaks as described in the app.

Billing. Pro is currently sold as a one-time purchase for a fixed period (monthly or yearly). It does not auto-renew — access ends when the paid period does, and there is nothing to cancel. If we introduce auto-renewing subscriptions, we will say so clearly at purchase and provide a self-serve way to cancel before any recurring charge is made. See the Refund & Cancellation Policy for details.

Failed generations. If a document generation fails on our side, the credit is automatically refunded to your balance. You should never pay for a document you didn’t get.

Payments are processed by Razorpay. We never see or store your card number, UPI PIN, or banking credentials.

Taxes. Prices on the Pricing page are the final amounts you pay. Knett is not currently registered for GST (turnover below the registration threshold), so no GST is added. If that changes, the Pricing page will state the treatment before it applies to you.

5. Community and user-generated content

In the Community (open rooms, college and cohort groups, private groups, comments and messages):

  • You keep ownership of what you post. By posting, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute that content within Roleora, for as long as it stays posted. Delete a post and the license ends (except for cached copies we purge on schedule and content already lawfully quoted by others).
  • Don’t post content that is illegal, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, deceptive, spam, or that exposes someone else’s personal data.
  • You can report content. We can remove content and restrict accounts that break these rules, at our reasonable discretion, on the timelines on the Grievance Redressal page. We are a moderated space, not a free-for-all.
  • Every new post, comment and message is checked automatically. Keyword rules always run, and an AI classifier also reads it up to a daily limit; past that limit only the keyword rules run. When the check is highly confident that something is in a serious category (intimate images, sexual content, credible threats, doxxing or other people’s personal data, hate, encouraging self-harm, and money scams), it is hidden at once until a person reviews it. Two things are never hidden automatically: a post from someone who seems to be in distress or at risk of harming themselves, which goes straight to a person, and anything tied to a court or government order, which a person always handles. Other serious or uncertain cases also go to a person. Nothing is removed for good unless a person decides. To ask for a review, email grievance@roleora.com.
  • The Community Guidelines form part of these terms, including the rule on AI-made images, audio and video.
  • Your posts never feed your resume, your chat or your AI memory, and are never used to train AI models. The only AI that reads them is the safety classifier.
  • If we remove content, the IT Rules require us to keep it and its records for 180 days for investigation, even if the author deletes their account.

6. Employer accounts and career spaces

An organization can claim its career page and post openings. This section applies to anyone using Roleora as an employer, recruiter, or org admin ("employer users").

Claiming and access. Claiming an organization’s page requires verification through a work email at that organization’s domain, plus our own manual review. We may decline a claim at our discretion, including where we believe it is fraudulent or unauthorized. Roleora can withdraw an approved claim when it was made in error or abused; the organisation is told why.

Acceptable use for employer users. In addition to Section 3, employer users must not:

  • use candidate data received through Roleora for any purpose other than evaluating that candidate for the opening they applied to, or for a directory invitation the candidate opted into;
  • resell, share, or otherwise disclose candidate data, applications, directory profiles, or recruiter notes, to any third party, or use it to build a database outside Roleora;
  • contact a candidate outside Roleora using information obtained through the Service, except where the candidate has separately given you that information directly;
  • use any automated system, model, or third-party service to score, rank, or make decisions about candidates based on their Roleora data. Roleora’s own product does not offer or perform this;
  • attempt to identify or contact a candidate through the opt-in directory in a way that circumvents the invitation flow or exceeds any rate limit we apply to invitations.

No data resale. We do not sell, rent, license, or otherwise provide candidate data to any third party, and employer users may not do so either. This is the same "no selling data" commitment in our Privacy Policy, applied to the employer side.

Recruiter notes. Internal notes an employer user writes about a candidate are never shown to the candidate and are visible only within that employer’s own account. Employer users must not use recruiter notes to record anything they would not be comfortable disclosing under a legal request or a data-access right the candidate exercises.

Candidate notifications and withdrawal. Every change to an application’s stage triggers a notification to the candidate. Employer users may not attempt to bypass, mass-produce, or suppress these notifications. A candidate may withdraw an application at any time, which revokes the employer’s access to that application’s shared data immediately.

Openings are not guarantees. Posting or applying to an opening on Roleora does not guarantee an interview, an offer, or any employment outcome. Roleora is not a party to any employment relationship between a candidate and an employer user.

7. Your content and our platform

Yours: everything you put in — work entries, journal entries, uploaded documents, profile data — and every document Roleora generates for you from your data. You own your record.

Ours: the Roleora platform itself — the software, design, prompts, models’ orchestration, brand, and everything that makes the Service run. Don’t copy or reverse-engineer it.

You give us only the limited license needed to operate the Service for you: storing your data, processing it to generate your documents, and displaying it back to you. We claim nothing more. We do not use your content to train AI models, we do not sell it, and we do not show you ads. Ever.

8. AI-generated output

Roleora’s documents, interview questions, interview feedback and scores are written by AI models from your own logged entries and the job you choose. For a resume, Roleora checks every number and every cited source against your record and marks the bullets it cannot match. It cannot catch every overstatement. So:

  • Generated documents are drafts. Review them before you use them.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of anything you submit to an employer, institution, or anyone else. The record is only as truthful as what you logged.
  • AI output can contain errors, awkward phrasing, or omissions. It is assistance, not advice: not legal, financial, or professional career advice, and no guarantee of interviews, offers, promotions, or admissions.
  • The practice interviewer is an AI, not a person, with a computer-generated voice. Its scores are AI practice estimates from one session, not a judgement of you by anyone.
  • A vouch is written by another member who says they saw the work. Roleora does not verify vouches.

9. Availability and changes

We aim for high availability but do not promise uninterrupted service. We may change, add, or retire features. If a change materially reduces what a paid plan includes, we will notify you before your next renewal so you can decide whether to continue.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law:

  • Roleora is provided “as is” and “as available”.
  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses — including lost opportunities, lost profits, or outcomes of job applications, interviews, or appraisals.
  • Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of the Service is limited to the greater of ₹1,000 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
  • Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Indian law, including under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. Your statutory rights as a consumer remain intact.

11. Termination

  • You can delete your account anytime from Settings. Deletion is real and immediate: your data is erased from live systems irreversibly the moment you confirm; backup copies expire within their 30-day retention window. There is no recovery after confirmation. Export first if you want a copy; export is one click and free. The IT Rules make us keep two narrow things for 180 days: your registration details, and any Community content of yours we removed with its records (Privacy Policy Section 7).
  • We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, abuse the Service, or create legal risk — with notice and a reason, except where the violation makes that impracticable.
  • Dormant accounts: if you don’t log in for 24 months, we will email you four times over a notice period, including a one-click export offer. If you still don’t return, the account and its data are deleted. This is a privacy feature, not a penalty — we don’t warehouse abandoned personal data. (Details in the Privacy Policy.)
  • Unused purchased credits at account deletion are forfeited, except as set out in the Refund & Cancellation Policy or required by law.

12. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms materially, we’ll tell you by email and in-app at least 15 days before the change takes effect. Continuing to use Roleora after that means you accept the new terms; if you don’t, you can export your data and delete your account.

Earlier version: Terms of Service as published on 3 October 2026.

13. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to any rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 (including approaching the consumer forum where you reside), courts at New Delhi have jurisdiction over disputes arising from these terms.

14. Contact

Questions about these terms: support@roleora.com. Grievances: see the Grievance Redressal section of the Privacy Policy and the Contact page.
