Community Guidelines
Effective 23 October 2026 · Last updated 23 October 2026
The Community is peers helping peers: placement prep, career switches, honest questions, hard-won answers. These rules keep it worth being in. They are short, they are enforced, and India’s IT Rules 2021 require us to publish them plainly, which we would want to do anyway.
What the Community is for
- Asking and answering: interview experiences, prep strategies, career decisions, honest feedback on each other’s approach.
- Sharing what you learned: the OA pattern you just went through, the mistake you would warn someone about, the resource that actually helped.
- Practising together: mock-interview partners, study groups, accountability.
These rules apply everywhere in the Community: open rooms, college and cohort groups, private groups, comments and messages between members.
The three rules that cover almost everything
- Post only what’s yours to post. No confidential employer material, no leaked question papers under NDA, no one else’s work presented as yours, no screenshots of private conversations without consent.
- Argue with ideas, never at people. Disagreement is welcome; harassment, hate, and pile-ons are not. “It was a joke” is not a defence.
- Be who you say you are. No impersonation, no fake credentials, no “my friend at Google says” invented for clout. This community runs on the same rule as the product: claims need to be real.
What the law requires us to prohibit: the full list
Under Rule 3(1)(b) of the IT Rules 2021, content in any of these categories will be removed, and repeat posting will end your community access. Do not post content that:
- Belongs to someone else and you don’t have the right to share it
- Is defamatory, obscene, pornographic, or paedophilic, or invades another person’s privacy, including any intimate image shared without consent
- Is harassing, or hateful on the basis of gender, religion, caste, race, or ethnicity
- Encourages money laundering, gambling, or any unlawful activity
- Harms minors in any way
- Infringes a patent, trademark, copyright, or other proprietary right
- Deceives or misleads about the origin of a message, or is knowingly false, including impersonation of any person
- Threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, friendly relations with foreign states, or public order, or incites an offence
- Contains a virus or malicious code designed to disrupt or limit any computer system
- Is patently false information, published with intent to mislead or harass a person, entity, or agency
- Violates any law currently in force
AI-made content
- You may post text an AI helped you write, such as a resume line you want feedback on. You are responsible for it like anything else you post.
- Do not post AI-made or edited images, audio or video that look real and could pass for a real person or event without saying they are AI-made. A fake image or voice of a real person, made to harm, shame or deceive, is removed and the account is closed. Making or sharing it can also be a crime under Indian law.
- Photos in posts are switched off for now. Before we switch them on, we will add automatic image checks and AI labels, and update this page.
How enforcement works
- You report, we act on timelines we’re legally bound to. Use the Report button on any post, comment or group. Complaints come by email to grievance@roleora.com. A report in a prohibited category is resolved within 36 hours. An intimate image shared without consent, or someone impersonating you, is removed within 2 hours of your complaint. Full timelines are on the Grievance Redressal page.
- Automatic checks first, a person has the final word. Every new post, comment and message is checked automatically. Keyword rules always run, and an AI classifier also reads it up to a daily limit; past that limit only the keyword rules run. When the check is highly confident that something is in a serious category (intimate images, sexual content, credible threats, doxxing or other people’s personal data, hate, encouraging self-harm, and money scams), it is hidden at once until a person reviews it. Two things are never hidden automatically: a post from someone who seems to be in distress or at risk of harming themselves, which goes straight to a person, and anything tied to a court or government order, which a person always handles. Other serious or uncertain cases also go to a person. Nothing is removed for good unless a person decides. If we hid or removed something of yours, you will see why. To ask for a review, email grievance@roleora.com.
- Restrictions escalate honestly: a warning, then a posting restriction, then removal from the Community. Threats to people’s safety skip the ladder.
- Removed content is kept for 180 days. The IT Rules make us preserve removed content and its records for 180 days for investigation, even if the author deletes their account. Only the Grievance Officer can read it.
Two promises back at you
- Your posts never feed your career record or Roleora’s AI features. They are never used in your resume, your chat or your AI memory, and we never use them to train models. The only AI that reads them is the safety classifier above.
- These rules don’t change quietly. Material changes are announced in the app before they apply, and the law asks us to remind you of these rules at least once every three months. We keep the reminder short.
